Veeam IO redirection snapshot after instant recovery
Hi all,
after a production storage fault, I've restored two vm using Instant Recovery (let's call backup storage Storage2) with delta on another storage (Storage3).
The day after, I've used "move to production" function of Veeam and everything now works ok.
Now, in Storage3 I've two "VEEAM IO REDIRECTION SNAPSHOT", but I don't know why they're still there.. Can i safely remove them without losing anything?
Thanks

Do they keep growing? If so, kindly, reach our support team. Otherwise, it should be safe to remove them, however I'd back VMs up before doing that, just in case. Thanks.

I can confirm that removing snapshot has been safe in my case.

[MERGED] IVMR leaves snapshot after finalize
We are seeing the same thing after finalizing IVMR as in this 2018 post. After finalizing an instant VM recovery, Veeam leaves behind a snapshot named "VEEAM IO REDIRECTION SNAPSHOT". It doesn't grow, and it doesn't appear to be needed, but it has to be manually removed.
Is this normal behavior for Veeam after IVMR is successfully finalized? If the snapshot is no longer needed after finalization, why wouldn't Veeam do its own cleanup?
Thanks, everyone!

Doesn't look like expected behaviour, so, you'd better reach our support team for further investigation. Thanks!

Re: Veeam IO redirection snapshot after instant recovery
We just faced this problem again in a V11 customer environment.
We'll file a case if the customer agrees. Anyone else having seen this since 9.5U4?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi, we're having this issue on v11.0.0.837
We have opened case #04904527 to confirm that we can remove these and see if support wants anything else.

Re: Veeam IO redirection snapshot after instant recovery
Thanks for the info. My Case is #05805593 . The only difference in my issues is that that IO redirection snapshot is growing which has me concerned about deleting it.
