Veeam Linux Repositories - Reconnectable socket: failed to receive data synchronously, timeout

Anyone running Linux Repositories (using Linux Transport Mode) getting intermittent “repository unavailable” errors. Rescanning the repos yields this error

Reconnectable socket: failed to receive data synchronously, timeout

which is usually resolved by running a

Code: Select all

/opt/user/veeam/backup/veeamtransport --restart

on the repo itself

Full error from logs
Error System.Exception: Failed to connect to Veeam Data Mover Service on host 'repo.name.obscured.on.purpose', port '6162' ---> Veeam.Backup.Common.CRegeneratedTraceException: Failed to check service compatible. ---> System.Exception: Reconnectable socket: failed to receive data synchronously, timeout.

Colleague does have a support case open with Veeam, but wondering if anyone has a resolution they can share?

Starting to see it across more and more repositories (ubuntu 20.04...verifying)

Hi Craig,

Please provide a support case ID as requested when you create a new topic about technical issue. The forum posts about technical issues without case ID will be deleted by moderator.

The error is quite generic and says that the service cannot be reached on port 6162, most probably it does not reply to external requests. The issue can happen due to various reasons, the best way to narrow it down is to analyze debug logs and the dump of the corresponding process. Let's wait for what our engineers can find out.
