I am trying to run a backup of an ubuntu 8.10 guest VM using Veeam. When I enable VSS, the backup fails with the following error:
Creating snapshot Failed to perform Veeam VSS freeze: guest OS "ubuntuGuest" is not supported
I searched the forum, and saw a note about disabling "Enable VMware Tools quiesence", which I did. Still got the error.
Ideas?

You should disable Veeam VSS in the wizard, as VSS is only available on Microsoft Windows. Then, VMware quiescence will be used.
