VM will not start after failed backup snapshot

This has happened to me twice in 2 weeks so I thought that I would share....

I am using Veeam Backup and Fast SCP 4.1.2 backing up 6 VM on VMWare 3.5. I have not got to the root cause of the problem, but it appears that there is a problem with the snapshot for some reason, this causes a CID mismatch in the VM vmdk files that means the server will not restart.

The first time this happened to me it was on an exchange server and it took be over 16 hours to get my sever work as having made a back up of the server I had to repair the Exchange database.

This time it will take less time, because the application server is smaller but I am concerned about data corruption.

Has anyone else had similar problems?
