Hi All,
I'm confused and wondering of which one that is supposed to be use as the recommended VSS in using VBR 4.0 ?
between:
1. Veeam VSS (in which we need to standardize the Local Windows Admin password and fill in the details in Windows VM backup job).
2. VMWare tools snapshot provider
3. Built in Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy provider.
should I turn on this feature for a specific VM like SQL Server and Exchange Server ?
Thanks.

Re: VSS technology comparison and usage
Albert,
Basically, we do recommend using Veeam VSS implementation for all your Windows machines and VMware Tools Quiescence for Linux based VMs. There are a few existing threads discussing the differences between those:
http://www.veeam.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... SYNC#p1834
http://www.veeam.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... SYNC#p3003
And that one:
Transactionally Consistent Backups Probably you've already read it, but still, it contains lots of useful information.
Also here is a really good post explaining how Veeam VSS works relating to Exchange server, please have a look: Exchange 2003 Backups
Anyway, please use Veeam VSS whenever possible.
Thank you

Re: VSS technology comparison and usage
ok, sounds great and I'm now understand.
So eventhough the Windows VM is just ordinary test machine it is best to use Veeam VSS integration.
