We have set up our offsite backups as incrementals, with synthetic fulls once a week.
When Veeam does the synthetic full, does it:
a) Do the incremental backup, create the synthetic full file and then transfer the synthetic full file across the WAN to the target
Or
b) Do the incremental backup, transfer the incremental file across the WAN and create the synthetic full file at the target site
I'm hoping it's b.
Cheers
Mark

Re: WAN and Synthetic Fulls
It's (b) in all scenarios but one - if you are backing up to a CIFS-based backup repository without specifying target site proxying server in the backup repository settings (which is just so wrong!)
