Feature request: Regarding Analysis Dashboards

Post by keithkleiman »

I really love the anlaysis dashboards. Would love them even more if there was a way to choose the option to diplay not only the active alerts, but the closed ones as well. Analysis is done not only at the moment an issue is occuring, but more often times after it is resolved. Currently these anlaysis dashboards only show active alerts so if the problem occurred a few minutes ago, but is no longer an issue, the anlaysis dashboards do not show these alerts and loose the correlation of alerts point of the analysis dashboards. Showing all active and closed alerts would increase the value of these analysis dashboards and make it even more compelling for our usage of them.

Hi Keith,

Great feedback, thanks!

As you've found, the option to include Closed alerts is not included in the Alert widget Personalization. So it would be something we would have to build into the widget configuration out-of-box....or, we could perhaps rewrite that Microsoft Alerts widget to add those Personalization options, just as we rewrote the Microsoft Objects by Performance (aka Top 10) widget to add the "Traffic Lights" capability, with color-coded thresholds built in. (you'll see it soon when we release MP v7  )

We're currently investigating some methods of letting you achieve what you want - we've got a pretty big focus on dashboards in upcoming releases! You are going to see some exciting developments there. So stay tuned! 8)

Thanks again and keep the feedback coming!

Cheers
Alec
