Monitor FT server memory errors

Post by Carlos »

Hi,

We have problems with the monitoring of a Fault Tolerance enabled server. The primary server is running on ESXA server and the secondary server is running on ESXB server. When i look in the SCOM manager by _VM State the Virtual Server is monitored on the ESXB (secondary) and not on the ESXA server. The problem is that we very often get this error:
VMGuest 'Virtual server' (on ESXB) has exceeded threshold for Memory Active Pct by using 100 %.
The error is generated on the FT secondary server, so the memory IS high on this machine but isn't high on the primary server wich i want to monitor. Is there an resolution for this problem, so that nWorks SCOM only checks the primary FT server?

Thanks,

Carlos

Hi Carlos,

could you please provide us some additional info:
which nworks MP version do you have?
Do you use the VC connection to monitor both ESXs or the direct connections to the hosts?

Thank you,
Irina

Hi Irina,

We user nWorks VMware MP version 5.5.1.493.

The nWork collector is installed on the Virtual Center server which is connected with the ESX hosts.

Thanks,

Carlos

Hi Carlos,

could you please open the support case with our technical support and attach logs of the collector and nworks EM?
You can use the Support->Export logs in the nworks UI for that.

Thank you!
Irina
