Is it possible to monitor logfiles such as /var/log/vkernel with the nworks management pack?
I'm looking for a method to get a mail or something when an event is logged in the logfiles.

Re: Monitoring logfiles such as vkernel?
Hi Sander,
you can use syslog monitoring to get alerts on events in the /var/log/vkernel.
For that please refer our Operations guide, Appendix C (http://www.veeam.com/files/guide/nworks ... _guide.pdf) to enable Syslog monitoring.
You should also manually edit /etc/syslog.conf on your ESX server to add forwarding kernel messages not only to /var/log/vkernel but also to nworks syslog listener (the Collector machine).
Any questions please let me know,
Irina
