VM Container not monitored
Hello
we have installed the new veeam 6.5 MP (upgrade from version 6.0). The new collector was installed on a new server and the old collector has been disabled. The collector has detected the structure and sends the alert messages. All host (16) are correctly detected and their status is indicated correctly. Yet for one of these hosts: in the view "_Sphere host state" the column VM Container is indicated as "Not monitored". In the SCOM's Eventlog, the veeam's log and the Web console I did not find any errors. How can I change the status of this host?
thanks for you help
Bruno

Re: VM Container not monitored
Hi Bruno,
First question has to be - are there actually VMs running on that Host? (Sorry, but it has to be asked )
If there are VMs running there - can you see them in SCOM views? Have they been discovered (for example, All VMs state view)?
If you open a Diagram view for this Host (or, browse the Compute topology) - can you see those VMs under the host VM container?
If the VMs are missing from SCOM, or the container, then the first thing to try is Rebuild Topology - you can find this as a link in our Veeam UI, or also as a Task in-context of Collector in the SCOM console.
Once rebuild process is complete (wait at least 30 minutes) then check for those VMs again.
Let us know if that helps!
Thanks
Alec

Re: VM Container not monitored
Hi Bruno,
Did you try to Rebuild Topology? Also, could you try to open health explorer for the VM with empty health state? Can you check if monitors under Availability, Configuration and Performance are there? For instance, in the health explorer when you disable all filters, you should see a Virtual Machine CPU Usage Analysis monitor under the Performance category, do you see it?
If you can see all the monitors under these VMs, but their health state is "empty" - this means that they cannot be initialized for some reasons or they have been disabled, could you check overrides that you might have for each of the monitors?
Thanks.
