Create an alarm for user logins

Post by Arturo Pedroza »

Help! I want to create an alarm to track daily logins to my vCenter server.

I am creating a custom alarm called "LOGON", the rule is an event, with Event Name "UserLoginSessionEvent". I got that name from https://pubs.vmware.com/vfabric5/index. ... vents.html
.The severity is error, and the action is just the "send to default email group".

The rule is enabled, and linked to my vCenter node as the "bad login" alarm is linked).

Nothing is showing up, am I doing something wrong?

Hope you help me, thanks!

Hello and welcome to the community!
Do you see the events in Tasks&Events tab of Veeam ONE Monitor?
Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome!
I just see this event in the Task and Events tab of Veaam One Monitor:
"Alarm 'User' on Datacenters sent email to "myemail@email.com" "
That's an alarm that I created to track user logins on my vCenter Server.

That's the only event that I received in Veeam One Monitor from my vCenter Server about user logins.

Any suggestion... Thanks!

In this case I would check "Events" tab on vCenter to see if VC generates those events at all. If it does, double-check if the events are collected by Veeam ONE.
Thanks!

I guess that is the problem, Veeam One Monitor doesn't collect any event about user logins from my VC, just collect the triggered actions of the alarm that I created.

Can I do something in Veeam One Monitor to collect all the events from VC? Specially that one when a user login to my Vcenter.

Thanks!

All vSphere events should be collected by default, if you experience different behavior, pleas contact the support team.

[MERGED] Events from vCenter

Post by Arturo Pedroza »

I have a problem in Veeam One Monitor, the problem is that Veeam One doesn't collect all the events from my vCenter Server and I want to create an alarm based on one of those events that Veeam One doesn't receive.

Any solution? Thanks!

Arturo, as was said if events are not collected by Veeam ONE, you need to investigate an issue with the support team.
Thanks!
