If a backup job fails, veeam one will fire the alarm "backup job state" but it won't get automatically resolved when the job is successful again in the future, therefore you have to resolve the alarm manually.
Of course, on the one hand you should always be notified if a backup job failed but on the other: what can you do? Failed is failed and you cannot go back in time to resolve the error and run the backup again. So when the next run is successful I wouldn't see a problem to resolve the alarm.
Do you agree with me or are there any other considerations I haven't thought about?

Re: resolve backup job state automatically
Hi Michael,
Your reasoning makes sense.
The alarm is event-based, it triggers once you have job finished with warning/error. If you add another event-based rule to the alarm with Event name = "190 Veeam MP" and Severity = Resolve, alarm should turn back to normal after successful backup job.
Thanks!

Re: resolve backup job state automatically
Hi Nikita,
just tested it - it works fantastic, so thank you for that
Just for a better understanding: This alarm is being triggered when ANY backup job fails. What about our resolution? Suppose we have two backup jobs and one fails and short time after that the other job runs successfuly. Could it be that the alarm was resolved allthough the failed job wouldn't have a successful retry?

Re: resolve backup job state automatically
That`s a general event which is generated for every job, so successful backup will resolve the alarm generated by another failed job.
You can type job name into event text box so rule will work only for particular job.
