veeam ONE - Problems with non-admin accounts

Post by real_tarantoga »

Code: Select all

Support IDs 00400326, 00445086
Hello @all,
we've recently installed veeam ONE / B&R 9 Enterprise by just keeping Business View categorizations and B&R Configuration Backup. That worked really fine. Thanks for that! ;)
our veeam Infrastructure:
  • srv1 Backup
  • srv2 Enterprise Manager & ONE
  • srv3 MS SQL Database
  • 5 Proxy VMs
All user accounts can access https://srv2:9443 (Enterprise Manger)
Only admin accounts can access http://srv2:1239 (ONE Reporter) or http://srv2:1340 (ONE Business View)

For testing purpose I added the following groups on srv2 to the "veeam ONE Read-Only Users" and "veeam ONE Dashboard Viewers":
  • Interactive Remote Login
  • Interactive
  • Network
  • Authenticated Users
  • everyone
the original group names are in German - I hope the translations are a good approach ;)

User accounts are getting the following errors on Reporter website:
The specified username or password is not correct. Provide new credentials and try again.
and in German only on the business View website:
Anmeldung fehlgeschlagen: Der Benutzer besitzt nicht den benötigten Anmeldetyp auf diesem Computer
I'm not the Domain administrator ... but perhaps somebody has an idea.
thank You!

Hello Stefan,
Provided case IDs are outdated. Do you have a current one?
Looks like you did everything correct. Are all 3 groups not working at all? Have you tried to restart Veeam ONE service?
Thanks!

Just as a quick test, are you able to login with these credentials via remote Monitor Client?

same result for monitor client started remotely and locally: all admins get access, but no user accounts.
concernig the support id: looking in the licensing portal the 60 socket license will lose support in 11/2016, the 30 socket license in 2018 ...
Should I rather contact the support?

I have an idea, but I will not be able to verify it (yes, that's not a joke). The active directory is managed by another branch of our enterprise.
I've explicitly installed in this AD, because all IT services should merge to this "master AD". Even as local "server administrator" I'm not able to modify some folder permissions and I suppose, there is a conflict with IIS and/or program folder permissions or access rights.

Thank you for any other ideas!

Thanks for the reply Stefan,
Looks like the best you can do is to contact the support team to review logs.

Yes, also I would recommend to renew support, so that both license keys show the same date.

So even local users do not work when logging in remotely?

Please post your case ID, once you have a ticket opened.

Based on the support case it seems like the problem is solved on webex, but you just haven`t confirmed that there. Is that correct?
P.S. Real support case number is 01769956
