Veeam ONE reporting
Does Veeam ONE reporting have the capability to report just 1 VM in a backup job? We are looking to automate/email backup status reports on certain VM's that are in a backup job (that backs up 25VMs) but we only want to send out status reports on specific VM's and not the entire list of VM's in the job. Can that happen with Veeam ONE?

Re: Veeam ONE reporting
Hello,
It is not possible today, but it could be possible in future releases, let's see how it goes.
So far, your best approach today, is to create a new Virtual Machine category, use the grouping expression, and add something like this, with your VM Names
It is not the most elegant way of doing it, but it should work until atomic filtering arrives. Please let us know

Code: Select all
CASE
WHEN Name = "SQLServer1" THEN "SQL Category"
WHEN Name = "MailServer2" THEN "Mail Category"
WHEN Name = "WebServer3" THEN "Web Category"
ELSE "Other"
END

I'm sorry, where would I do that workaround?

Hello,
Following the next steps:

Then

And finally

Then when you create the report, use the Business filter, and select the BV you want, should have one VM.
Bear in mind that not all reports have Business View filter, but Protected VMs for example it does:

Can we not use this as an option outlined here: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/one/d ... ml?ver=120

Re: Veeam ONE reporting
That will narrow the scope of monitored objects, yes. But in reports you will not be able to select individual items no, but with the Business View I showed you, should work.

Re: Veeam ONE reporting
+1 for this but maybe expand the request as follow.
We often (2-4 time a year) have external auditors on site who go into a lot of detail around bcpdr, and one request they always have is around backups/replication/protection for "Specific VM's". So they might select 5 VM's randomly from a list of 600 and then also select say 5 days for a timeframe say 11 months ago and want reports/information about those vm's only. Success/failures/warnings/retries etc.
It is a lot of manual work to go through reporting and selecting/screenshotting individual Vm's maybe spread over many different jobs from the current reports to supply the evidence, and they always have follow-on questions which takes even more time. (For example, a warning/failure, but then a retry later) Would be great to select any object, like a VM, or a custom selection of a few VM's and be able to give a "protection report" for them only for a custom time frame. I'm sure the data is in the DB just need a way to build the report of have the excellent Veeamone team create a " backup" or " replication" report for " Invidual VM" report somewhere.

Re: Veeam ONE reporting
Hello Butha,
We are working on a super granular filtering, that will allow you to filter by specific VM names, or that contains XYZ, etc. It is very powerful, hope we can share some more news as the time passes.
Thank you for the detailed use-case.
Best regards
