VeeamOne MS SQL HA Setup

Post by FrediWeber »

Hi

We have a MS SQL HA (Always On) setup with two SQL servers and want to put the VeeamOne DB on this.
The SQL server setup itself works as there are many other DBs running without trouble. When we run the setup for VeeamOne (9.0) it doesn't recognize the listener.
It could also be a problem with the permissions as we generally don't give any application user rights for the hole instance.
The deployment manual for VeeamOne states that the service user needs System Administrator rights. Can you explain why it needs that many rights? Is this just for the setup process (then you could maybe just provide a setup script).

Thanks.

We need to be able to create a DB for Veeam ONE and fill it. Later we need only access rights to the database.

You can use this method instead of the setup: KB 1616 - How to create Veeam ONE database manually

Thank you very much. The problem now is that we get the following error if we try to install VeeamOne on the application server:

Hi Frederik,

Why don't you try to install Veeam ONE 9.5 that should be fully supported for SQL Server AlwaysON. Check out our what's new doc for more info > What's New in 9.5

Thanks!
