VEM in V1 changes VBR name

Post by bkain1 »

(I'm so confused)

I just put the two VEM boxes into V1, for the first time. It seems V1 has now moved two of the VBRs, which have jobs on one of the VEMs, to "under" the VEM so instead of them showing up as "backup infrastructure"->vbr name, for alarms, they show up as "backup infrastructure\VEM name" ->vbr name. Is this correct behavior? If so, it means I have to manually change all the alarms I had customized for our production VBRs until we get named groups, for grouping VBRs. I can't delete the VBRs either, from V1, I have to delete the VEM to delete them, to try to move them. Is this correct?

or am I just confused?

thanks

Hi Becki,

If your backup servers are managed by those VEM servers, then yes, it is the correct behavior. The management is done either through VEM or via standalone VBR servers.

Thanks!

Is there any way to group change the name of the VBRs in each alarm that I created and listed each VBR in?

Yes, you may bulk-modify alarms as described here.

Thanks
