What are Flushes/min ?
Hi
Was looking over my VeeamOne monitoring because I'm bored.
On my Hyper-V hosts I was looking at the storage counters in CSV (cluster volumes) in VeeamOne Monitor. Particularly the Virtual Storage Issues, which consist of two seperate counters;
Errors/min
Flushes/min
The Errors/min is pretty obvious, one would want these to be zero. And in my case they are.
But what are Flushes/min ? And should they also be zero or below a certain average ? Looking up the desciption of this counter in VeeamOne brings me no closer to understanding what it means. Is Flushes/min a general term ? Did I miss it until this point in my life ?
Anyone ?
Many thansk.

Re: What are Flushes/min ?
Hi
I am experimenting huge values (between 5000 and 40000 by minute) for this counter with a Centos on Hyper-V and I do not understand why and how can i fix it because (I think it is a cause of disk latency on the host).
I tried to change the I/O scheduler and the sysctl.conf settings with absolutely no effects. Any idea ? Thanks

Re: What are Flushes/min ?
Hi, yes and my Windows servers are OK. But as I mentioned the problem occurs with a Linux and is for this reason I tried to change the I/O scheduler and the sysctl.conf settings with absolutely no effects. Still looking

Depending on the workload this could be normal.
Which Filesystem di you use?
Which Applications/DBs? High IO?
Shared VM disk?
