how to add proxy?
Support #00503621
B&R 7.0r2 complains "network path not found" when trying to configure a Windows backup proxy. B&R 6.5 worked fine in same environment. Access to admin$ share works fine. Any ideas?

Re: how to add proxy?
In fact, everything does not work, even without the proxy. Backup, Replication, Quick migration... they all fail.

Re: how to add proxy?
Could this be an issue with the backup server itself? Do you see any errors in the Windows event log?

Try adding the proxy by IP address if you are adding by DNS name, and vice versa.
What kind of errors do you get in backup and replication jobs?

The last session wrote: "Unable to allocate processing resources. Error: All backup proxies are offline, outdated or currently being processed.".
So it must be an issue with the machine. I will try Win2003r2 x64 instead of Win2008r2 next.

Re: how to add proxy?
This is due to proxy server unavailability. Is the default proxy server installed as a part of Veeam B&R installation busy processing some other tasks at that moment?oz42 wrote:The last session wrote: "Unable to allocate processing resources. Re: how to add proxy?
I just re-installed everything, so the local backup proxy is idle. In fact, both machines are idle.
In other words: B&R is *not* working out-of-the-box.
Let me explain why I want this proxy: I hope that backup performance is getting better then. Without a (remote) proxy, B&R 7 is slower than B&R 6.5 and I would like to speed up things here.

Re: how to add proxy?
Olaf, it is not 100% clear what is not actually working from your posts, it would be more efficient to contact support directly and verify your installation via webex session.

Re: how to add proxy?
SOLVED!
Let's say the B&R machine is named bonnie and the proxy is named clyde.
When specifying the credentials for the access to clyde on bonnie, I had to specify "bonnie\admin" (and not "admin" or "clyde\admin").

Re: how to add proxy?
That doesn't make sense Olaf , the instructions say "Type in an account with local administrator privileges on the server you are adding. Use DOMAIN\USER format for domain accounts, or HOST\USER for local accounts." so in your case would be a local admin account on the proxy named clyde (clyde\admin). It sounds like a DNS issue.
