Compress/decompress

VA - optimal compressing level, LAN target. B&R repository - Align backup file data blocks, Decompress backup data blocks before storing and Use per-VM backup files on dedup Windows Server 2012 R2 volume. I would like to minimize lan traffic and use deduplication. Is it works for VA backup files?

Both compression and deduplication works on standalone agent. Kindly take a look at this Help Center article for more details.
