Migrating AWS to Hyper-V
We are currently using Veeam B&R for backup and replication and Veeam Agent for Windows for non VM backup. We have a client with a number of servers in AWS that need to be moved back to Hyper-V servers on premise. Is there a way to use Veeam Replication to migrate these servers from AWS to these hosts? I know that it is possible to have a backup copy job to the on premise backup storage and do an Instant Recovery to Hyper-V VM but our tech manager does not want to use this method in case there is an error at any stage, EG storage failure during the migration from backup to Hyper-V storage. Ideally we would like a replication job but this is not available using VAW that I have found.

Re: Migrating AWS to Hyper-V
Hello John,
The only way is to create a backup with VAW and then perform Instant Recovery to Hyper-V (you can also use export disk to vhd(x) format type of restore). Thank you.

Hi Dima,
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I thought that would be the case.

Re: Migrating AWS to Hyper-V
Of course, bare metal recovery of VAW backup into the Hyper-V VM will also work.
