I'm not so sure if this behaviour is somehow expected......it doesn't make sense for me.
In my Lab I have 2 SuperMicro ESXi 7.0u1 Servers.
Veeam (10.0.1.4854 P20201202) is running as a VM.
Proxy is set to "Autmatic Mode"....usually picks Virtual Appliance Mode.
A few days ago I configured a replication job to replicate my Veeam Backup Server (only C:\ Drive) to one of the ESXi Servers.
Today after I received a bunch of error messages I figured out that my backup jobs suddenly hot added the VM Disks to the Veeam Replica which of course is powered off.......Backup Job failed.
For some reason Veeam seems to think to be able to use that Replica VM as a valid Proxy.
Has anyone had the same experience? Is this a bug or can I do any specfic config changes?

Re: Veeam Backup using Replica Proxy (Powered off)
Hi Brian, I'd ask our engineers to take a look at this. That's not expected.
