Have you checked the O/S event logs. I suspect this may be an O/S issue. Also worth checking the uptime on the server.

Windows event logs are what i was refering to. Right click on the start menu select run and enter eventvwr.msc and press enter.

Also the job logs in %programdata%\Veeam are a great help too.

Hi Carabao2016,

No Prob, I mean, can you do some testing to your USB storage to try eject "I:\" Drive manually from Windows Explorer? How is the result?

Yes, thats why we see this error when Veeam try to eject it,
"Cause: The device does not support the specified operation"

You need to check your policy settings, then ensure you can eject the USB storage manually, then it should be solve your issue.

Thanks

Hi Martin,

In normal condition the eject option should be shown when you right click on USB Storage, have you try these below action before?
  • Restart Explorer, Plug & Play Services.
  • Restart your computer
  • Try to test plug other USB Storage devices, if not issue on other USB storage, you need check to USB Storage vendor related new drivers.
Thanks

Please be aware that "ejected" USB devices can be remounted via a trivial operation on that machine. While I've seen this offer some real-life protection before, please don't think that just because it's ejected that it's safe from an attacker that could get onto the machine because they can just trigger a remount and access / destroy the backups.
