Feature Request
Hi Team,
can we please have a Report that looks like the Backup Infrastructure Summary of the Full client?
That would make it very easy for non-backup-admins to see the nightly backup status at one glance in a graphical way.
There are similar reports, that don't quite meet that requirement.
Like the Latest Job status (but the pie chart does count all workloads, not the number of jobs, and it doesn't show running jobs)
Or the Workload Protection History (which, as the name suggests, shows all workloads, even if the jobs might be successful after retry)
We have a mixture of VMs, Fileservers and Agents we backup daily, but none of the current Reports covers all that.
Or did I miss something?
Thanks
Markus
EDIT: Damn, I noticed that I already requested that about a year ago

Re: Feature Request
Hello Markus,
Showing running jobs in reports could be questionable due to data collection processes. Almost real-time data is collected and shown in the UI, but then it is aggregated and used in the reports. Due to intervals, the "running" job could already finish when it appears in the report.
Nevertheless, if you need to show only graphics for non-backup-admins it is possible to create a dashboard like this but with bar charts:
Then schedule it, as an email attach:
Thanks

Re: Feature Request
Hello Roman,
thanks for the quick reply.
We have a morning routine where the last 24hrs of backup (72 hrs on mondays) are checked by whoever is in the early shift.
A whole week would probably be too much. If there's running backups that would be a nice-to-know.
Anyway, how would I create the Report of your screenshots?
I can't seem to find the appropriate settings.
Best
Markus

Re: Feature Request
Hello Markus,
Step 1: creating a custom dashboard
Follow Web UI > Dashboards > New Dashboard button
Step 2: Adding a widgets
Web UI > your custom dashboard > New Widget button
Expand Veeam Backup and Replication folder > Backup Job Status. Then, rename the widget as you wish and click Next.
In the settings use the job types filter to select a dedicated job type and interval.
Above I have created 3 widgets that differ only in the job type filter applied. So you need to repeat Step 2 to create additional bar charts.
Step 3: schedule a dashboard
Web UI > Dashboard > your dashboard > Schedule button
Then click Add, and set the required schedule. I used the attached to the email option.
That is it. You can find more details about dashboards on these pages
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Re: Feature Request
Hello Roman,
that's great, I was able to build it according to your guide, thanks.
Is it possible to combine that with the workload protection history in one email?
EDIT:
I just found a flaw, that makes the dashboard unusable for my purposes:
I can either set the timeframe to "past 7 days", but that doesn't include today's backups (from 0:00)
or set it to "current week" but on monday I wouldn't see the weekends Jobs
A timeframe like "last 72hrs" would be great

Re: Feature Request
Hello Markus,
It is impossible to combine reports and dashboards in a single email.
I agree that the time range field could be improved and extended.
Thanks for the feedback. It's noted.
