Impact of SMBv2 signature enablement on Windows OS

Post by Yuya »

Hello,

We are planning to enable SMBv2 signatures on Windows OS.
Will Veeam be affected by the signature activation?
We are using Veeam v11 to backup our Hyper-V VMs.

・Microsoft network server: Digitally sign communications (always)

・Microsoft network client: Digitally sign communications (always)

Hi Yuya

This settings are recommended and checked with the "Security & Compliance Analyzer" in our V12.1 release:

May I ask, why you are still running on an unsupported version of Veeam Backup & Replication?
I strongly recommend first to upgrade to the latest (version v12.1) to benefit from maximum compatibility and security related fixes: https://www.veeam.com/kb4510
