When will Azure Local 24H2 be supported?

My customer is considering backing up Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) version 24H2 with Veeam.
According to the following knowledge base article, it appears that only up to version 23H2 is currently supported:

Do you know when Veeam will start supporting version 24H2?

Azure Stack HCI 24H2 was released at the end of April 2025.
I expect full support in our upcoming v13 release. However, let me check with the team to see if we can announce support for v12.3.* as well.

Hi Yu,

We are still looking into it. Our expectation is that it should work without any code changes, since Azure Local (24H2) is based on Windows Server 2025, which we already support.

I’ve asked our QA team if we can run tests with v12.3.2 so we can make it officially supported, because I don't see how customers can update to v13 by September.
Updating existing backup environments to v13 will only be possible in Q4.

I will update this topic when I have more information.

Hi Pawel,

I was informed that we have completed basic functionality tests against a standalone "Azure Local 24H2" Hyper-V host with Veeam Backup & Replication v12.3.2.
Both backup and restore operations worked well. One thing to note is that the host appeared in our UI as "Microsoft Azure Stack HCI (Next, 64-bit)".

We will now proceed with testing "Azure Local 24H2" in clustered deployments.

As soon as we can confirm official support, we will update the KB article.

We have completed our testing for Azure Local 24H2 with Veeam Backup & Replication v12.3.2. Both the KB article and Helpcenter will be updated in the coming days to reflect compatibility-level support.

Please note that for the time being support will be on the same level as today for Azure Stack HCI 23H2, without any net new Azure Local 24H2 features.
