Hi folks,
We are adding replicas to our backup strategy by doing Replica from Backup. For most of the VMs, this worked fine. But for our file server VM, not so much. That VM has around 32 TB of actual data in it, and I'm estimating it will take at least a week for the initial Replica to finish. From what I've seen from my first attempt at this over the weekend, when the daily "Backup" job starts, Veeam ends the Replica job with a failure saying it was stopped by the backup job.
Is there a way to get that initial replica without leaving the server vulnerable from disabling the backup job for an entire week (or more) while the replica job runs? When Veeam stops the Replica from Backup job, does it leave the partial-replica in a state to where it can pickup where it left off the next time it runs, or does it start from scratch again?
We're on Veeam 12.2.
Thanks for any advice.
