Cannot Add Dell EMC Data Domain Repository over Fibre Channel – “Destination host unreachable”

Hello,

We are unable to add a Dell EMC Data Domain repository in Veeam Backup & Replication using Fibre Channel. The wizard fails with the error:
Failed to call RPC function 'DDBoostCheckConnection': Destination host unreachable. Host: [DFC-NewDD].

Environment:
Veeam Backup & Replication: 12.3.x (latest)
DataDomain : D6410
Windows Server: 2025 (Veeam server and gateway)
Dell EMC Data Domain: DD OS 8.4
Connection Type: Direct Fibre Channel (no SAN switch)
DD Boost over FC: Enabled on Data Domain
Veeam Gateway: Veeam backup server itself (FC connected)

Thank you for sharing the case number and the details, however, I can see the case was only just opened, so please wait for Support to assist.

I also noticed the case was opened as a Free case, which are supported on a "best-effort" basis. Please ensure you are set as a Case Administrator in order to receive regular Support offerings.

While we cannot assist with troubleshooting over the forums, the error message seems fairly straight forward that Veeam could not reach the host. I advise check the requirements, and if you cannot make progress, please continue working with Veeam Support.
