Please assist about Backup D2D2T connection

I have a vsphere host connect to SAN storage , data domain , Tape LTO 7 via to SAN switch.
Can I design Tape server on vSphere host? if VBR is VM.

Hi Kim29,

I recommend check our Supported Devices and Configurations page in the User Guide; pass-through of tape hardware through an ESXi host to a VM is not supported as noted in the User Guide. If your tape hardware can be presented to the tape server via iscsi, that is supported to go to a VM.
