Backing up file that is password protected

Post by roychong95 »

Hi guys,
I am wondering is veeam supporting backing up NAS source file that is password protected and if yes do we need to provide the credential to the file for veeam to read the file during backup and write the file during restore?

Hi Roy

Yes, it should be possible. If you can copy or delete the file using Windows Explorer, Veeam can also protect it.
However, if these operations are also protected by a password on the NAS WebUI, our product will not be able to protect it.
