Hi,
I've just started Veeam backupping our non-Windows environment, which is hosted on OLVM.
There are VMs in there that host Oracle databases. My latest v12 version cannot application-ware restore an Oracle DB from that environment.
The B&R v13 whats new doc states:
"
Application-Aware Processing
Linux distribution support — V13 added support for application-aware processing during host-based
backup for the following Linux distributions: <insert a few Linux OSses and Oracle Linux 9.6>
"
My question is: Is v13 saying that I can do application-aware backups for my Oracle DB, within the oracle linux VM, via the (KVM-)host in my OLVM environment? Or am I reading the doc wrong?
Thanks!

Re: OLVM host application-aware Oracle DB backup
Hi, no OLVM integration does not support application-aware processing yet. This functionality is available for host-based backups of VMware, Hyper-V, recently for AHV, and in V13 it's coming to Proxmox. Meanwhile you can use agent-based backups for your OLVM VMs to achieve the same. Thanks
