Is there a way to restore a database without tlogs with the SQL Plug-in?

Post by jmbi »

The scenario is we have dev SQL servers that we need to restore a copy of the database to. However, we don't need to restore all the t-logs to the dev server, the size of some of these tlogs can be sizable. I'm assuming we could do this with a copy-only job. The catch is I would need a way to restore that specific job rather than another one of the fulls on a nightly schedule, and I don't think that's really any more storage efficient than just adding the necessary storage to restore the tlog files as well.

If we use the most recent point in time restore option, we still get the complete set of tlogs.

Hello,

What about selecting the first option "Restore to the point in time when the selected backup was taken" in this step of the wizard? It will not restore logs as long as you selected a full backup in the previous step.

Thanks!
