How to deploy Windows Proxy on Linux Appliance

Post by righter »

Hi

I'm just testing the new Linux Appliance in my Lab.
It is working very well, but File Level Restore back to a Windows VM is not Working:

Code: Select all

operation is supported only via the network transport
Firewall is fully open, UAC disabled etc..
After researching, I found that I need a Windows Proxy for this function:

But when I try to add a Windows VM as Proxy I got:

Code: Select all

Access is denied. Ensure Kerberos credentials are specified in FQDN\USER or USER@FQDN format. Local user accounts are not supported. Samba failed with error: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED [stdout: session setup failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED. stderr: Kerberos auth with 'administrator@192.168.XXX' (192.168.XX\administrator) to access '192.168.XXX' not possible. ]
Is there a limitation with the Linux Appliance? Before the Windows VBR server was used as a proxy.

THanks

Functional Kerberos is mandatory with v13.
if you don't want to deal with Kerberos, add your Windows machine with the deployment kit:

This is documented in the Top Issues sticky topic btw.

And actually no, you don't need a Windows mount server to perform an FLR unless you're dealing with advanced file system configurations like dynamic disks, dedupe enabled etc.

Hmm strange, I tried before with the Certificate Login.
Now I tried again and it worked now.

Thanks!
