Hi All,
Weird issue we are seeing when we run some backups.
We have a physical veeam server (DL385 G10) with HPE Eth 10/25Gb 631 Adptrs. 2 Are teamed together and connected to 2 seperate MS425 Meraki Switches.
The problem is that during backups the jobs slow down to nothing and errors appear like these
Failed to resolve name
'connect failed in tcp_connect()', endpoint
Agent failed to process method
Failed to retrieve object hierarchy: exception
Cluster-01 is unavailable, VMs residing on it will be skipped from processing
And on and on.
The job would fail and reboot would retry the job and it would work perfectly.
We logged a few tickets on this but nothing showed up. #07872342
It was intermittent so didnt focus on it too much but the last time it happened even with the job running (but it was in trouble taking longer with some errors) I disabled the 2 NICs in the team and enabled them again and the job started going like normal again. No other intervention required.
Anyone seen a similar issue. Not sure if its the NICs or the TEAM going into trouble or the Meraki switches blocking the traffic for some reason.
No issues appear on vCenter so it seems to be ok at that end.
Was an issue in Veeam 11 and vCenter 7 so we updated both in recent weeks and the issue is still the same.
Appreciate any help.

Re: Strange Network Issue when backups are running.
Hi Ultra_VM,
A support case again will be the way to go -- checking the previous case, looks like it was closed due to lack of follow up on the case.
At first blush, looks indeed like a network issue related to the NIC teaming, but it is a bit strange that it seemed to subside after the disabling / re-enabling.
Regardless, a deeper look at the debug logs will be required for this and no known issues matching this description, so please open a Support Case if the issue is persisting.

Re: Strange Network Issue when backups are running.
If the issue occurs again, I would recommend to run something like wireshark and review the capture to see what/where the issue might be stemming from.
