azure vm backup jobs are causing a lot of microsoft azure alerts

Post by vbaguy »

Case #07876454

Deployed vbaz appliance version 8 from vbr console, used all private settings, nothing public.
Also, currently have in vbaz console -> General -> Deployment mode set to private

Getting a lot of Microsoft Azure alerts in mail, stating public IPs deleted.

Set up a case with veeam and microsoft, both saying they see public IPs getting deleted, but neither see any public IPs.
We've already checked during the time backup job runs to see if any public IP got created, didn't see anything.

What public IPs and why are they getting deleted?

Am I missing anything?

Hi,

We have not seen this behaviour before. Do you only see this when backup policies run or all the time when VBA performs an action against your infrastructure?

Hi,

I looked into your case but from the looks of it, you can adjust the reporting issue from Azure side as it’s related to us calling the “delete Public IP” API call which is needed to run our production successfully.

Hi Neils,

Just wanted to confirm, this is standard behavior from the appliance, and from the Azure side the public IP deletion that is being seen, what is that exactly? I understand its part of the cleanup process, what is being cleaned up?

Assuming a public IP is being cleaned up because that gets triggered from Azure side, or is this just like a call for cleanup and nothing actually is being deleted.
