Hi,
We want to upgrade to Veeam Backup&Replication 13 - the linux based Virtual Software appliance.
I learned that with this combo there is no more NTLM Login for SMB Shares. We use (used with R&D12) an standalone debian server with an smb share as our backup repository. So mounting should be done via Veeam Deploymenmt Kit.
As far as i can see there is no such deployment kit for linux based server. Will there be one?

Re: Veeam Deployment Kit for Linux
Hi Aleksander, welcome to the forums.
Deployment kit won't help with SMB shares, but is there a reason you want to do SMB atop a debian server instead of adding the debian server as a repository? Network shares are fine, but typically performance and stability are far better with managed Linux / Windows repositories.
Deployment kits do exist for Linux, but for the purpose of deploying Veeam Agent for Linux. Currently nothing to share regarding deployment kits for adding Linux servers as an infrastructure component.

Hi,
Thank you for your prompt reply. We use SMB for convenience. But deployment via managed repository is also feasible. I will try this deployment scenario.

Re: Veeam Deployment Kit for Linux
Deploying as a managed linux repo (even better deployed a Veeam Hardened Repository) will be much more secure, and more performant than SMB.
