i just started Troubleshooting, but it looks like the Onedrive Restore Explorer doesn't connect anymore after 8.4 Update...

i first noticed it through a serviceprovider connection, but it also doesn't open locally on the VBR/M365 Server itself!
i'll update casenumber as soon as i have one!

Hi Stephan,

It still works for me locally on the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 server, both when opening it from the Start menu with connecting to the VBR/VB365 server and when launching it from within the VB365 backup console.

i just double checked with launching from within vb365 console.. also runs into the timeout for me..
sharepoint and teams explorers are affected too!

exchange explorer works!

I found similar cases (with v8.3) where restarting all Veeam and PostgreSQL services helped the customers in this cases.
But we never had the chance to investigate further, since the issue was resolved after the restart and we couldn't reproduce it.

ok thx for that info, i might test this, but in theory i had restarted the backup server multiple times after 8.4 update because of other (windows) updates...

In my case it indeed helped to restart all services.
Strange, since we anyway restarted all servers after upgrading to version 8.4.

restarting looks like fixed it, but sadly the initial problem is backup now after 2 days... looks like at some point in time, the timeout on connecting is back!

I'm still investigating with the support and involving development now...

One thing we've already found, opening the OneDrive restore Explorer from "backup job level" it loads fast and also expanding the org is faster...

For a big customer with like 16 jobs you would expect this because only loading 16th of the users (eg 1000 users per job) is fast as this is "pre-filtered"

In reality, the time the loading and expanding is taking multiplied by 16 does not represent the same time when opening from the org Level!

Furthermore, even on sub 100Users tenants, with only one job, where in theory there shouldn't be a difference from org or job level , it makes a huge difference in loading times !

I've done some .net traces for the development, hopefully they find out what's going on!

One other thing I noticed, pSQL doing a. Lot of IOs while the restore explorer is loading!

I've tried restarting services/reopening dozens of times but can never get onedrive explorer to be functional.
