Feature Request: Bulk Folder Restore in Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 Restore Portal
Hi Veeam Team,
I would like to submit a feature request regarding the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 Restore Portal.
Current Situation:
Currently, it is not possible for a Portal Manager or a Mailbox Owner to restore an entire directory or a complex folder structure directly through the web interface. Users are forced to select items individually or navigate through subfolders, which is highly inefficient for large-scale recoveries.
Proposed Enhancement:
We need the ability to select a parent folder (in OneDrive, SharePoint, or Mail) and trigger a restore of the entire folder structure including all subdirectories and contained items with a single click.
Why this is important:
- User Experience: For end-users and portal managers, the current process is too time-consuming.
- Efficiency: In cases of accidental deletion of entire project folders, a bulk restore is the only viable way to ensure data consistency without manual overhead.
- Parity: This functionality is already a standard in the Veeam Explorers (Desktop versions); bringing this to the Web Portal would close a significant usability gap.
We see this as a critical improvement for the self-service capabilities of the product and would appreciate a timely implementation.
Best regards
Roger

Hey Roger,
This is indeed a feature request which is already in our road ahead roadmap. Thanks for confirming this. For the timing, I have no estimate for this to be honest

Re: Feature Request: Bulk Folder Restore in Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 Restore Portal
Good afternoon,
I speak on behalf of all our customers and would therefore strongly advocate for an update with this feature implementation to be released soon. Unfortunately, the current handling is highly questionable and not conducive to such a solution. It's a shame that it hasn't been implemented already.
I hope we can expect implementation within the next few months.
Best regards

+1 from my side
We are facing the exact same limitation in our environment.
The main issue for us is that our 1st level support is using the web restore portal for daily restore tasks. While restoring individual items works fine, not being able to restore entire folders makes certain scenarios unnecessarily complex and time-consuming.
Especially in cases where complete folder structures need to be recovered (e.g. accidental deletion), this significantly limits the usability of the portal for delegated or helpdesk-driven restores.
Having the ability to restore full folders directly via the web portal would be a major improvement for our operational workflows.
Would really appreciate seeing this implemented.
Best regards
Lukas
