Upgrading from v. 12 to 13

Post by 1dna »

Hello Guys

Not sure if its the right forum but it goes here ( made a case for it aswell Case #08128258)

We have a 12.3 im trying to prepare to update - we have a mix of hyper-v, OLVM and VMware

We utilise the appliance and workers inside the olvm today - but how does this work and keep working after upgrading to v 13? ( and whats the requiremetns to forfill this?) anyone has done it successfully or can point me to what to expect?

OLVM Version: 4.5.5-1.65.el8

As its alot of data, i dont want to start from scratch again, and as the backup meta data is bound to the appliance being deployed inside olvm im hoping there is a straightout better way.

Hello Lars,

After upgrading VBR, the console will prompt you to upgrade the appliance as well. As part of this process, the existing appliance will be converted to a worker.
On the next run, all incremental backup jobs will continue as incremental; no full backup will be triggered.
