hi,
got this error for several customers right now.

Failed to access mailbox. Active Directory is unavailable.

is it something global or should i open a Veeam support case.

the particular mailbox is a M365 group without connected to Teams.

i did activate EWS for the organization as per kb4820.
tonight the job was successful.
other customers, where i did nothing, were suddenly successful too.
strange

is it recommended to activate EWS per kb4820 as a general preventative procedure?

We are also seeing this error randomly on our tenant jobs. Do we know the root cause of the intermittencies? I can assume its Microsoft side, but any validation on the actual change?

We see the same error during Cohesity M365 backup, seems to be something on the MS side.

Same for us, getting the error on several customers and opened a case with Veeam support.

We had only 1 tenant affected so far. Re registering the Org/Enterprise App/by running through 'Edit Organization' fixed the issue for now.

I've seen it too, but as far as I can see its transient.

We’ve also been receiving support requests from our partners about this over the past few days. Is it worth opening a support ticket for this?

Seeing the same issue on some of our tenants. Also seeing this errors since a few days:
- Failed to synchronize folder XXX
- Failed to access mailbox

The errors seem to be temporary, but retries take a very long time to resolve the issue and sometimes still fail.

Any ideas how to handle this? How is VDC handling this?

We are also seeing this now on alot of tenants.
Some dissapear over night, some disappear just by running the job again, but not always.
Startet about a week ago i think.

Its always worth opening tickets, if support is unaware, R&D is unaware.
