Hello,
I have a new library and I buy new tapes.
Is it normal the tapes stay on "Unrecognized" until I execute an inventory ?
I'm using Scalar i3 library. I believe there should be an auto inventory task no ?
I put the tapes several days ago in the library.
thanks for your help to know if it's expected or if I should open a case

Re: Auto inventory
Hi Matteu
The Help Center answers your question — this is expected behavior.
Best,
Fabian

No case is required if the behavior you see is documented in the Help Center. When you load new tapes in your tape device for the first time, these tapes are presented to Veeam Backup & Replication as Unrecognized. To identify unrecognized tapes, you need to run tape inventory job against them.

Re: Auto inventory
Thanks for your answer.
I prefered to ask first here because I saw this : viewtopic.php?f=29&t=78402&start=0
However, I understand the inventory step is mandatory for new tape thanks !
