Replacing VBASW v5a with VBASW v10 Appliance?

Post by eric123321 »

I have a VBASW v5a appliance that is currently added to VBR v11a. I plan to upgrade all components to the latest versions.

For VBR, I will follow the upgrade path: v11a → v12.3 → v13.

However, I am unsure how to upgrade VBASW v5a to the latest release. The documentation only mentions replacing the root OS with Ubuntu 22.04, performing the database upgrade, and copying user files. After completing those steps, I don’t know how to proceed with upgrading from v5a to v10.

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbaws ... tml?ver=10

Would it be possible to simply deploy the latest VBASW v10 appliance, then create new backup policies and map them to the existing backups?

Hi Eric
The documentation only mentions replacing the root OS with Ubuntu 22.04, performing the database upgrade, and copying user files. After completing those steps, I don’t know how to proceed with upgrading from v5a to v10.
The documentation tells you to click on "Upgrade". All the steps you mentioned are done automatically during the upgrade process. You don't have to perform them manually.

If you decide to deploy a new appliance, you can import existing backups/repositories.
