VAW was stuck in "Installing" Win 11 25H2

Post by techgirl »

After downloading the update, it would not install going from 13.02 to 13.03. I tried a few things like letting it run 30 minutes, restarting services, restarting and cold-starting the PC and going immediately to veeam, running as admin (and also was a sole user who is administrator already). It just said installing with nothing happening. No evidence in resource monitor of any disk activity related to Veeam.

What worked - I scouted for the download and navigated to programdata\veaam\veaamupdates - right-clicked the .exe there and chose 'run as admin'. This immediately popped up the small window to accept terms (this wasn't happening from the Veeam GUI) and upon accepting, it progressed thru the install without issue as it normally would.

I suspect something failing in the mechanism that pops up the 'terms' and it's hung waiting for the reply.

Win 11 Pro 25H2 26200.8737 - appears to have both .NET 9.0.17 and 8.0.28 with the 2026-06 security updates to them. I will update if we also run across it for other PC.

Hello,

Windows 11 Builds 26200.8737 is a June 23 (KB5095093) preview update.

I just tested this particular system update and Veeam agent seems to be installing\uninstalling just fine both manually and remotely.
I can't test the update process itself right now, though. I also don't see this is some kind of known issue.
My recommendation is to open a support case with all the logs, if you face that issue again. It could be related to the particular system.

The preview updates is the partially insider tested version of what is going to be included in the following month's regular cumulative update. There could be changes before full release.
