Feature Request: Cluster-Aware Backup Support for Linux Pacemaker/Corosync Clusters

Post by Olini »

Hi everyone,

I would like to propose a new feature, that would allow Veeam Agent to integrate with Pacemaker/Corosync Linux Clusters, like Windows WFSC.

What I functionality I would expect from such a integration:
  • Discover and manage a Pacemaker/Corosync cluster as a single protected object.
    Cluster-aware backup policies.
    Awareness of active/passive resource ownership.
Protection and recovery of cluster configuration.
Simplified restore workflows for clustered services and shared storage.

Hi Oli,

Thanks for the request -- this is something we're researching for a future release, but nothing beyond that to share at the moment.

Just for clarification, can you share a bit more about the workloads like this you'll want to protect?

1. What distribution are you running these clusters on?
2. What applications are running on the clusters? (i.e., PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc)
