Subject should be descriptive already:
If I specified both mount servers - Linux and Windows - which of those will be used for Instant-Recovery.
To my understanding vPower is supported by both.
Helpcenter makes some ambigous statements that for Windows workloads, the Windows mount server will be used and for Linux workloads the Linux mount server.
As we are not talking about mounting the guest file system here, but rather the VM to the hypervisor there should not be any dependence on the guest OS here. I can well Instant-Recover an OS totally unknown to VBR.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Mount server used for IR with both mount servers configured in V13
Anyone any idea on the logic to choose the IR mount server when windows and Linux mount servers are configured both?

Re: Mount server used for IR with both mount servers configured in V13
Hello,
sorry for the delay... I tested it and the logic described in the mount server selection was applied. The Linux VM was mounted on the Linux mount server and Windows VM on the Windows mount server. Yes, it does not mount the guest file system, but still the backups need to be "mounted".
I did not test the fallback situations.
Best regards
Hannes

Re: Mount server used for IR with both mount servers configured in V13
Hi Hannes.
Totally makes sense for FLR. But I was asking about IR. Did you really test IR only?
Both mount servers types can drive this. Until V12 we were IR'ing all the Linux servers with Windows mount servers.
But which one is used if both are specified. Helpcenter is not clear about that.
Thanks,
Mike

Hello,
I only tested Instant VM Recovery. Nothing else
Did you see something different than what the user guide / I describe?
Best regards
Hannes
