Ignore SureBackup IP Warning on Hyper-V Virtual Lab

Post by EricinIT »

I have a SureBackup job that runs fine but always ends in a warning because there's an interface on a Linux VM that has two IP addresses on it. One IP is the IPv4 and the one that causes the warning in the IPv6 IP address. This is a SureBackup job to a Hyper-V virtual lab. Both IPs are used in the production environment on the Linux VM, however only the IPv4 is used in the SureBackup tests. The warning presented is "Unresolved isolated IP address detected". I understand we can just ignore the warning but would like the results to be clean with Success instead of Warning. Is there a method like a registry key value that can be set to ignore this warning?

Hi Eric,

There is no registry key as far as I see in our internal list.

But I found 3 support cases from customers with the same situation. One solution that worked was disabling IPv6 on the backup server. Since IPv6 does not seem to be needed for your backup server, I would try that as a first step. Alternatively, disable IPv6 at the source if it is not needed at all.

Would that work?

Best,
