V13 nutanix restores from webconsole

Post by nroyepic »

Just trying to figure out whether this is in the update pipeline/when it might be slated for.

Our org uses VBEM or did and allowed our MSA staff to do self-restore, whilst our team had control of the VBR and infrastucture itself. But since moving our workloads to Nutanix, we lost the ability for MSA or the other team to do any kind of self-restoration which slows things down for our customers, our staff and our team. I heard VBEM is being shot in the proverbial head eventually and will no longer be updated with Nutanix capabilities let alone restore options.

Just trying to get a rough timeline on when we could be able to use web based restore features with VBR Web services. As of right now nutanix restores require console access and at the moment we'd rather not give direct logon to the server/console for the other team.

Ultimately our use case is the other team is broken up to different client management groups (pods) so 5 of them might work with 20 of our clients and we'd rather not have them see our internal infra or the clients they do not manage. etc.

Hi Nick
Just trying to get a rough timeline on when we could be able to use web based restore features with VBR Web services.
Weeks, not months. :)

Both Backup Server Web UI and RBAC custom roles support for Nutanix AHV will be included in the upcoming version 13.1.

Best,
