v13.1 Blockset blocks immutability mismatch.

Post by andre.simard »

Hi,

Case #08204064

After upgrading one of our VBR servers to v13.1.0.411, we started experiencing "Error: Blockset blocks immutability mismatch. Failed to download disk" on more and more servers with every backup run.
Last week, a patch was released bringing the version to v13.1.1.18. The resolved issues section lists:
Object Storage Repository
Backup jobs that write directly to immutable object storage fail with the error:
Blockset blocks immutability mismatch
After installing the patch, none of our affected servers were fixed, the error was still occurring.
Support confirmed that the patch only resolves the root cause going forward and has no effect on servers already affected. So if you're still on v13.1.0.411, install the patch ASAP to avoid accumulating more servers with this error.
Support also mentioned a hotfix is currently in development, but I wasn't given an ETA for its release. The current workaround they shared is to run a new active full on all affected servers.
In my case, I have multiple servers in a remote location with very limited bandwidth, so running an active full on multiple TB will take weeks to complete.
Has anyone else run into this issue, or have any information on the hotfix availability?

Thank you!

Hi all,

For the items matching Issue #1 from the Top issues Tracker, Support should have a fix for the already affected servers; the preventative fix is available in the linked KB, but for resolving issues with the affected backups, open a Support Case and refer to the issue noted in the Top Issue Tracker.
