[BETA] [HPE] StoreOnce error during HPE-VME parallel full backup
In a VME cluster environment, running 8 parallel full backups on 2 workers results in the following error.
This does not occur when performing 4 parallel full backups, or 8 parallel incremental backups, or 8 parallel full backups when the bandwidth limit(2.5Gbps or less).
I have sufficient network bandwidth in this environment. What problems could there be?
Error:
Failed : hpe-test-w2025-3 : Failed to perform backup: OSCLT_ERR_SERVER_OFFLINE.
Err: -1404 Failed to write data to the object [[xx.xx.xx.xx] StoreTest01:/hpe-test-w2025-3_Backup_3/hpe-test-w2025-3_Backup_3_2026-02-24T183304.vbk].
Environment:
HVM VME 8.0.12 : HVM Host*14 40Gbps(10Gbps*4 LACP)
StoreOnce 5660 : 20Gbps(10Gbps*2 LACP)

Re: [BETA] [HPE] StoreOnce error during HPE-VME parallel full backup
Hello,
This error seems to be coming from the StoreOnce and isn't related to the plugin. Do you have a dedicated gateway server for the StoreOnce? If not, the backup server is likely acting as the gateway and it would probably be better to deploy a dedicated VM/server to use for the data transfer. I can reach out to you to collect the logs.
Do you use the StoreOnce for any other VBR servers protecting other workloads?

Re: [BETA] [HPE] StoreOnce error during HPE-VME parallel full backup
Hello,
In this environment, the backup server is used as a gateway server. In that case, is a lack of resources an issue?
Is it recommended to set up a dedicated gateway server?
I have sent you the log, please check it.
StoreOnce is used for this job only.

Hi @yumi.tazawa what was the outcome of this issue? Facing similair issues (not entirely the same setup though)

Can you share your issue? It might also be helpful to open a support case. This subforum is mostly related to our KVM/Linux Hypervisor integrations (HPE VME, oVirt, etc). If you're seeing StoreOnce errors, that is usually either on the storage appliance, the gateway server or the network somewhere.
