B&R 12 -> 13 bloated ui and deadspace

Post by stefansnabb » 1 person likes this post

Hello

I just upgraded B&R from 12 ti 13 and i am disappoint.

Why is there so much dead space between text and icons? I now have to scroll in the left bar whenever i need to do something. The deadspace is bloated...
Am i the only one here that sees that?

Its almost like windows8 tabletmode again.

I cant seem to be able to upload image here.... If i could i would draw lines of pixels that is unnecessary space between all elements in the ui.

I would like to se an compact mode in version 14 thanks!!!

Hi Stefan,

Welcome to the forum.

I can’t really comment on the “dead space,” as it looks fine for me. Could you please share a screenshot showing what you mean?
You can upload it to a image hosting service and share the link. I often use: https://imgbb.com/

Regarding a “compact mode”: the current focus is to deliver a fully featured Web UI as soon as possible, so that by the time v14 is released, the Windows console is ideally no longer needed.
Our summer release v13.1 will already add Web UI support for additional major workloads and settings.

Best,

I think I understand what you mean and feel the same. The lower left section now seems to be taller because every item is like 2-3 times the height of the text and the height of this part of the UI cannot be changed it seems. The result is that the tree view that sits above it gets less space so there is scrolling needed in that one *all*the*time*, whereas before I rarely needed to scroll that part.

And in the main part everything is also taller and the search bar seems to take up more vertical space so here too it's more difficult to get an overview.
