v13 provides this capability to vendors via USAPI 2.1, so NetApp may adopt it in the USAPI plug-in they are working on.

Recently, I had a conversation with some NetApp representatives, and they mentioned that the NetApp USAPI is currently with Veeam QA. Does anyone have an update on the current development status?

thx,

That's correct, the plug-in is undergoing verification/bugfixing stage.

Do we see Netapp tamperproof snapshot support within Veeam Backup&Replication with version 13.1?

Hi sandsturm,

As Foggy explained, the new storage plug-in from NetApp is required. The plug-in is developed by NetApp themselves. It has not been released yet.
You may want to reach out to your NetApp contacts to see if they can share an ETA with you.

The Netapp USAPI plugin is finally here, more info's here: https://www.veeam.com/kb4904.

Just installed it in my testenvironment and it works fine.

It has some caveats to be aware of:
- only complete netapp clusters can be added to veeam, single SVMs are not possible to manage (preferred way with the old plugin was to use SVMs, if I remember right :-)
- using the same cluster with the "old storage integration" and with the new USAPI is not possible with the same role.... so, think about how to migrate from old to new carefully

I'm very happy that we have this tamperproof/immutability option now!

thx,
sandsturm
